River Management Session - Snowbee & Angling Trust

River Dart Staverton Bridge - Monday 22nd June

You are warmly invited to join us for a riverbank management session at the meadow adjacent to Staverton Bridge on Monday 22nd June.

We will meet at 10:00am at Staverton Station, where Alex from the Angling Trust will give a short presentation on some of the

affecting our rivers, with particular focus on Himalayan Balsam. Following the talk, we will spend approximately 90 minutes helping to remove a small section of this invasive plant. This will be relatively light physical activity, and participants are encouraged to work only within their own capabilities. As many of our members are in their 70s and 80s, there is absolutely no expectation to undertake strenuous work.

At around 12:00 noon, we will break for a lunch, so please bring your own refreshments.

Following lunch, we will be joined by Simon Kidd from Snowbee, who will share some of his thoughts and tips on fishing for brown trout and sea trout on our local waters. Simon, who has represented England in international competitions, will also provide a demonstration of casting techniques.

The event is expected to conclude at approximately 2:00pm. This promises to be an enjoyable and informative day, combining practical conservation work with expert angling knowledge and good company.

If you would like to attend, please let me know at.

Best regards

Gary
